Ruth is a design & construction strategist for her own firm, Space & Strategy Studio, an adjunct educator at VCUArts, and a strategist for Deibler CPA. She obtained a B.S. in Interior Design (2004) from Radford University and an MFA in Interior Environments (2021) from VCU.
Ruth is a writer and an amateur gardener obsessed with live oaks, coastal natives, and is constantly in her yard or on the water. She lives in Newport News with her husband Brian (21 years married!). She has two kids, Naomi (freshman at Virginia Tech), and Jude (10th grader). She’s a horse mom to a 5-year-old horse named Gunsmoke (Festus) and 2 labs named Ozzie & Zena.
Ruth served on the ASID Virginia Board from 2006 – 2008 and received the Janet Kane Spirit Award in 2005. Additionally, she served in additional volunteer positions, beginning as an ASID Student Member and Chapter leader in 2002.
